Ministry at Heritage
|
|
HBC is committed to glorifying God through our service for Him. We offer a range of ministry opportunities designed for every member of the family. Our members actively serve the Lord through our various ministries.

Children
Nursery
At HBC, we are committed to providing excellent care to your infants and toddlers while you are attending services. Our nursery is staffed with competent, caring individuals who are members of the church family. Nursery care is available for children age 3 and under, whose parents are on the premises.
Kids 4 Truth
Heritage Baptist Church uses the Kids 4 Truth program to minister to children, ages 3 - 6th grade, of our church and community. The program is a structured, well-prepared, and fun ministry that teaches children doctrinal truths through song and scripture memory. Kids 4 Truth meets during the school year every Wednesday night at 7:00 PM.
Kids' Church
More than cookies and milk... Kids' Church is designed to teach children ages 5-12 the basics of worship by assuming roles as the congregation, greeters, ushers, offertory, special music, Scripture readers and by presenting Bible stories. A missionary focus is integral to the class with offerings supporting missionary children.
Vacation Bible School
Each summer we offer an exciting week of Vacation Bible School. In our VBS program, children ages preschool through sixth grade will learn how to choose God's plan for their lives, for salvation, and for daily obedience and service. They have a fun time learning about God through Bible stories, games, and crafts.

Teens
Youth group at HBC is vibrant and active. The teens meet weekly on Sundays and Wednesdays. One Sunday evening a month the teens get together at someone's house for food, games, and fellowship. Additional activities are scheduled every several weeks.
The teens are very involved in several church ministries including nursery work, Vacation Bible School, and singing in the choir.
Summer Camp & Retreats
Each summer the teens travel to California for a week at Camp Ironwood. Each October they participate with other youth groups from like-minded churches for an overnight youth retreat in Eatonville, WA.

Ladies
Prayer Sisters
The Prayer Sister ministry provides a ministry of encouragement and prayer for the ladies at HBC. Participating ladies pray for one another, send notes of encouragement, and sometimes give little gifts of remembrance for birthdays, anniversaries, or just for fun. Spring and Christmas luncheons provide a time for the ladies to fellowship and pray with one another.
Ladies' Bible Study
Our Ladies' Bible Study meets on Tuesday mornings at 10:00 am. This time of singing, prayer, and the study of God’s Word is foundational to the lives of our women as we seek to know God and encourage one another. Past study material has included: Lord, I Want to Know You (Kay Arthur), A Woman After God’s Own Heart (Elizabeth George), and Changed into His Image (Dr. Jim Berg). Childcare is provided.
Ladies' Retreat
The annual Ladies Retreat takes place in September. It provides an opportunity for women to continue to grow in their roles as women, wives, mothers, and friends in a relaxed atmosphere. Our guest speakers are godly, mature women from around the country who minister to the women of HBC by their lives and the Word of God.

Men
Set Up Crews
The men of Heritage Baptist see the need to convert a school setting into a church or special event center several times a week as an opportunity to serve the Lord as well as providing a time for worship, fellowship, and teaching. A cup of coffee, donut and conversation is a regular after set-up activity.
Master's Men
This two-year program brings men together once a month for three hours of intensive study and discussion into what it means to be one of God’s leaders. The detailed curriculum, led by Pastor Stiekes, equips men for the work of the church as well as being light and salt in the home, neighborhood, and workplace.
Men's Retreat
Each January the men participate in an overnight men's retreat where they are challenged to grow as men, husbands, fathers, and leaders in the church. Guest speakers from around the country offer sound biblical teaching and there is plenty of good fellowship in an environment where iron can sharpen iron (Proverbs 27:17).

Christian Education
Sunday School
We encourage you to find your place in Heritage Baptist Church Sunday School. There is a Bible Study setting for every member of the family. Our Sunday School offers relevant and age-approporiate Bible study and teaching. Sunday School begins each Sunday at 9:30 am.
Summer Series Family Bible Study
Every summer we bring the entire family together and introduce a new topic of study. It includes singing and prayer time, and it provides opportunities for the whole family to participate in leading a weekly Bible study. This is a great time of refreshment and edifying for one another. Afterwards we usually enjoy the weather with a time of softball, kickball, or other activity. Previous studies have included the Ten Commandments, Christian Character Traits, and the Names of God.

Music
The goal of our music program is to glorify God and worship Him by using music that shows His character, proclaims the gospel and other biblical truths, and gives testimony of what Christ has done in our lives.
We use a balance of traditional music and recently written music that shows good quality and preserves a conservative style.
